I am one of those girls who loves color and patterns, but too often still reaches for neutrals. So this blog post is dedicated to you, pretty colors and flirty patterns.
Now, don’t you feel better?
Have yourself a good weekend.
xoxo, kendall.
Clint is hard at work researching potential homes for us to check out in Houston. We’re going house hunting next month, and will randomly show me pictures of potential canidates. Pretty much any place with a red door and is attached to the ground has my vote. But while he’s busy with this, I decided to check out some blogs that have been back-logged on my to-do list.
I especially like this one.
It is a blog that shows pictures of what different people from all around the world would pack if they could only take a few things on a trip. I’m nosy, so of course I’m interested to see what individuals of all different professions, back grounds, and locations would shove into their pockets before departure.
And here is a few tissue holders that just about made my day.
I’m in love with the whale one.
xoxo, k.
Here’s the latest work blog I wrote. Thought I’d share.

Other exciting news:
-my plane flight is booked for NYC! I’m more excited than words can say. It will be my first time, and I’m already planning on falling madly in love.
- I got my first ever official business cards. I feel way cooler than I am.
- I learned how to play “you can’t always get what you want” on the guitar. Again, I feel way cooler than I am.
And happy national margarita day to all.
xoxo, K
Clint took me to an event the Blanton art museum was having where local dance and musical talent came to perform in the different rooms. Check it out. No flash was used. (duh.)
It was a wonderful day.
Today is rainy and icky, so I decided to put on a little lipstick to perk the day up.
Well, have a happy weekend. Thanks for reading.
xoxo, k.
EDIT; word press is slacking on me, and doesn’t show these in high-res. so sorry about the fuzziness guys.
Here are a few of my own pieces that I’ve been designing in the last couple of weeks.
This was sent out as part of a business mail out, along with a Barnes and Noble gift card as a thank you for business referrals.
Here is the front side.
Here is part of one of the projects I’m working on for Heart Gift, the non-profit I have been working with. Some of the pictures are low quality, but it is because that is all the organization had access to, considering where some of the children are from. You should read through some of their stories. It just breaks my heart. Email me if you have a desire to support their cause.
This is the front of a post card I designed for a company called ARA. This, when sent out, had an address label in the middle and a stamp.
This is a business card I designed for a man who wanted to focus his design around an “eye” shape. I decided to take an abstract focus instead, since editing an eye was freaking me out. He liked it, so we both won.
This is the front of the card. The dimensions are 3.5″ x 1.5″, making it thinner than your typical business card. It makes someone’s card stand out though. And isn’t that the point?
Here is a full size ad I just designed for a business magazine, with a little design help from my dad.
Also: I’m excited to be added to the website as the official graphic designer! Check it out.

And here is the first blog I got to write for the company.

That’s all for now.

So… I have been debating creating a fashion blog, but haven’t been brave enough to pull the trigger, but this week has really inspired me to just dive in. I have had two complete strangers request to take a picture of what I’m wearing in the last 3 days. The first was when I was returning something at the mall. This twenty-fiveish looking woman poked on my shoulder while I was perusing sale shoes at Nordstrom, nervously asking if I wouldn’t mind posing for her Iphone picture. The second (today) came from a woman in a book store I was working on design work at. While getting my coffee (black with one splenda) she pulled out her camera and, with much more confidence than the last woman, asked me to stand in a few different positions so she could blog about my style. UHM, YES YOU CAN. What a compliment. Clint can shake his head about these events (he would far prefer me in a tshirt and no makeup… in a sleeping bag…) but I can’t help my excitement for apparel.
Well, on to my other love: design. Here are a few gems I’ve been loving lately.
I love designers that work outside of the box. Literally.
Juxtaposition at it’s finest.
I am in love with simplicity in graphic copy. It’s so clean and sophisticated, as if it doesn’t have to prove itself.
I enjoy the extreme creativeness with so few things.
This is one of my favorites. I love the colors and that you can read through the design. It was such a simple and beautiful way to spice up a page of text without being too distracting. I need to copy this on something.
Isn’t this just lovely?
I don’t know why all of these are so small? But I love geometric shapes in design.
First of all, I’m obsessed with anything that has to do with mail or letters. And I super like vintage nautical inspired things. So this is a perfect marriage of the two.
This is so fun! It would be cute to send in the mail, and put a letter in the folder. Hmmm…
Anyways, I had a lovely Valentine’s day. I hope you all did as well. And maybe you got a lil hand crafted love from me too. I just love… love. Okay, enough girly-ness for one post. Ga’day.
XOXO,
kendall
Hello there readers. Today is super bowl Sunday, and I’m pretty happy I have absolutely no plans of watching the game at all. So, instead, I’ll give you girls (or guys..) some entertainment to scroll through on your phone while you pretend to care how many yards that last pass was. So eat your free food and booze, and enjoy the fashion.
I’m pretty crazy about this new Australia Vogue cover.
This picture just really makes my day. How lovely.
I just love autumn outfits (ie: Texas winter outfits). And black pants. And pretty scarves. And laid back looks. Okay, and the short boots.
I love the casual cuteness, and the mix of prints.
While this comes off as a little too formal for me, I love the details in the floor and ceiling.
Tribal print. All day.
Okay, it’s 45 degrees out today, give me a break. I just love sweaters, okay? And dogs. Oh, how I love dogs.
I wish I could change my nail color everyday to match my purse. Or not carry so much crap that a clutch is out of the question.
This is my dream.
And about this weekend, it was pretty great. Friday I worked most of the day on finishing up a blog entry for my work, finishing up some design with a client, and getting my application for my passport! That night Clint and I decided to do a little cooking together, and watched a scary movie. Okay, it wasn’t that scary. Saturday, Clint took me to the art museum to check out an event there were having where different musical and dance talent from around Austin came to perform. We had a good time walking through the different rooms and being greeted with diverse musical talent. I’m learning how to lay the guitar right now, and having immense trouble making a C chord sound beautiful gives me great appreciation for musical artists. I also love using the museum as an excuse to try out some crazy fashion trend. In rooms full of daring art people, I feel like it’s a safe transition ground. This time it was the ever so popular “new york bun” and bright red lipstick. Today was church and back to the grind, with a list of things that need to be done before the week begins (including finishing my handmade Valentines cards. You know I can’t go a holiday without that). This next week will be full of dinners with friends, design work, and traveling to see my friends for birthdays and a Valentine’s ball.
Enjoy your stupid football game.
XOXO, kendall.
There are a few projects that I have been working on that have lead me to investigate different kinds of sticky notes and business cards. I am continually blown away by people’s creativity with something so simple and “everyday”. Thought I’d share a few that I liked.
I love having little things like that to inspire me and get my creativity outside the box… and sometimes back in the box. Work has really picked up lately, and I’ve brought on 2 new clients (outside of work). One is a non profit that helps provide heart surgery for little babies in 3rd world countries. How great is that?!
XOXO, K.
